The Reagent Exchanger (RX) is an automated plate washer capable of handling 1-well, 4-well, 8-well 96-well, 96-transwell (in development), and 384-well microplates. The system is equipped with a dispenser, aspirator, and delidder, amongst other features. What sets the RX apart from every other plate washer on the market is the loading of reagents via troughs. Troughs are SBS-sized consumable reagent reservoirs equipped with an optional stir bar to formulate media and resuspend cell solutions. Troughs can be loaded automatically using Rovers or robotic arms. This eliminates the need for long tubing lengths from the fridge to liquid handlers and significantly reduces dead volume.
